Secretary (Legal)

Horsham 14 - 16 Contract

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday

Length of contract 4-6 weeks could potentially be longer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Secretary to join a fantastic legal firm in Horsham, West Sussex. The main purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the team. The successful candidate will have previous Secretarial experience and possess excellent attention to detail and organisation skills.

 

Key responsibilities & tasks:

  • Preparation of correspondence, reports, memos, forms and bills from audio dictation, manuscript and precedents
  • Where appropriate, in accordance with instructions, creating and amending documentation
  • Reviewing and prioritising the daily post
  • Dealing with general telephone enquiries and assistance with receptionist duties
  • Maintaining diaries, arranging meetings, ensuring efficient filing, file opening, file closure
  • Maintaining an efficient filing system.

Key skills required:

  • Previous secretarial experience and legal background desirable
  • Knowledge or experience of family Law an advantage
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Previous experience of digital dictation and a case manager system beneficial
  • Fast and accurate copy and audio typing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Effective administrative, communication and team working skills
  • Professional telephone manner
